Baby Steps Fitness is excited to announce that we are starting a Mummy Wellbeing Workshop with the first session on Saturday 9th September 2017. The workshop will take place from 11:00-12:15 in Horn Park (part of the Old Colfeains) Hall, Eltham Road, Lee, SE12 8UE.
The workshop will consist of 30 minutes of exercise followed by 45 minutes with a guest speaker, which will be different every month. The 30 minute exercise session will be a low impact practical introduction into getting back into exercise after having your baby, focusing on your abs, back and pelvic floor; all of the areas effected by pregnancy. The session will be laid back and you will be urged to go at your own pace.
Confidence Coach Andrea Barker, will be the guest speaker, taking you through a 45 minute presentation to guide you on how to ‘be a more confident you’. The session will be interactive with tasks and team work.
Andrea will take you through a practical workshop to help build on your confidence as a new mummy and to learn to trust your instinct and at the other end focus on having the confidence to return to work after maternity leave.
Wellbeing is defined as the state of being comfortable, healthy or happy. I think these are three things that we put on the back burner for ourselves. As Mums we are so busy caring for everyone else in our family that we tend to forget about our own wellbeing.
Once we have our baby, we are given a wealth of information about how to care for our new born. There are several courses out there aimed at telling us how to comfort our baby, how to get them to sleep and how to wean them.
What is missing is a course on how to look after ourselves as Mums. From personal experience I have found that having some time out to myself is so beneficial. Even just having an hour away from looking after our babies or trying to keep on top of the ever mounting chores around the house.
I have found that after having some time out, I feel better able to deal with the everyday demands of being a Mum.
Their will be facilities to stay for a coffee and a chat after the session if you wish, being able to socialise with like minded Mums. Please remember to bring along some small change for drinks.
The session costs £15 with a £1 donation from every ticket sold to the charity we support, The Norrie Disease Foundation.
I will need a minimum of 10 mums in order to run the course so please tell your friends. Please book your place by Thursday 24th August.

Feel free to bring along baby or come on your own so you can really focus on you.
Please wear comfortable workout gear, with a good supportive bra and trainers.
Bring along an exercise mat for floor work.
