Who wants to feel stronger, have increased confidence, make new friends and free childcare?

We are very excited to announce that we will be offering a New Class, Core Conditioning, for Mums to attend with their babies and children. It will run every Friday at 11.30 until 12.15 at Horn Park (part of the Old Colfeians), Eltham Road, Lee, SE12 8UE. The first class is on Friday 12th January 2018. The class will be taken by the amazing Sunita and run the same as my Tuesday class at the same venue with the helper present to look after the children and toys provided to keep the little ones entertained. The class will be exercise to music but the focus will be on building core strength to help build a strong Mummy that can cope with the everyday demands placed on our bodies from having a baby. The classes are small and intimate allowing the instructors to really focus on your technique and teaching you ways to improve your posture and regain strength after pregnancy. The class will be for new mums to attend and also mums further along their parenting journey. There will be options given throughout so it will be a challenge for all participants with positive encouragement to help you meet your fitness goals. The benefits of the class, to list a few are; free childcare, self confidence, improved sleep and boost in happy hormones, helps to alleviate back and joint problems caused by pregnancy and carrying around our babies, feel part of a community of like minded mums and feel stronger within yourself. There will be the opportunity to stay for a tea and a chat at the venue after the class. So lets get fit and make new friends together.

Please consider the following for the class;

• Bring along water to drink,

• An exercise mat for floor work,

• A towel for personal use,

• Wear comfortable workout gear that you can move freely in and a good supportive bra,

• Anything that you may need for baby and

• Some small change as there is a charge by the venue for tea/coffee after the session.

The class is run on a drop in basis and you do not need any previous experience to attend. You will need to complete a basic physical activity readiness questionnaire and have been signed off by

your doctor as ready to exercise after the birth of your baby.

The class costs £12 on a drop in basis, £50 for a block of 5 sessions to be used within 3 months and £40 for a block of 5 sessions to be used within 7 weeks. You are able to use the class pass at

the Tuesday Mum and Baby fitness class, yoga and Friday morning Mummy meditation sessions as well as this class.

You are in very safe hands with Sunita as she has several years experience working in the fitness industry and ample experience working with Mums. Being a Mum herself she knows and understands the highs and low’s and is very friendly and approachable in her manner.

Background: I’m a local mother with a 5 year old son. Around 7 years ago, I had an ordinary office job and felt it was time for a change. I had always used my local leisure centre mainly attending fitness classes so pursing a qualification in this area seemed like a natural thing for me. I qualified in Exercise to music around 6 years ago. An opportunity of voluntary redundancy came up and I took it and have never looked back. 6 years later I work for David Lloyd, Nuffield Health, Mytime GLL. I teach a wide spectrum of classes including HITT, Core stability, Total Body Conditioning, Group Cycle (spin), Power Pump and LBT. In addition, I also train small groups of Mother’s at my home where I have a variety of equipment. I hope to complete my Level 3 Personal Training course over the next 6 months and specialise with working with new Mums on a 1:1 basis. Personally, exercise is a way to challenge my body, keep my joints mobile and clear my mind. Post baby, I found solace in exercising and I find that it is one of the areas which really empower women as the training progresses depending on their goal.

When I am not teaching, I am a Parent Representative at my Son’s school and assist with organising events, sing in a local soul choir, volunteer at a food bank. Most importantly I am a mummy to my Son which I love on most days.
